300 Kilos Of Mishandled Meat Confiscated In Balintawak
Almost 300 kilos of mishandled meat were confiscated by the Quezon City Veterinary Office in Balintawak on Tuesday, November 28.
The officials were shocked by the unsanitized handling of the meat products like those not in proper places, where they will be easily contaminated.
The officials were horrified after hefty boxes of meat were improperly placed on the stall with their juices already oozing. The daughter of the owner admitted their mistake. However, she noted that they are about to put the meat in the freezer.
The officials noted that such practices may lead to the contamination of the meats. Dra. Ana Cabel said they are imposing rules about maintaining temperature.
“May mine-maintain kaming temperature dito… Hindi siya pwedeng sa room temperature matunaw dahil nagiging contaminated na yung meat,” said Cabel.
The QC Veterinary Clinic will recommend the revocation of business permits in the said establishments.
