Action Star Steven Segal joined President Rodrigo Duterte in visiting the government troops in Jolo, Sulu, on Friday.
Introduced by the President himself, Segal did some talk to the soldiers stationed in Camp General Teodulfo Bautista in Barangay Bus-Bus.
The actor commended the soldiers for bravely fighting the problems of the country such as drugs and terrorism.
“We have a problem. We have kidnapping, narco-trafficking, human trafficking, organ trafficking and terrorism. I know you guys put your life on the line. I understand that this is serious business and I believe there is a formula that can help the Armed Forces, the police, the intelligence network, to combat this very well,” said Segal.
He also noted that the battle is winnable but will take time.
“I think the main thing we all have to keep in our heart is we don’t win this battle today. It’s gonna be a long fight, but the idea is to annihilate the enemy through attrition. It’s gonna be a long battle, but slowly, day by day, week by week, month by month, year by year, the enemy will get smaller.”
Segal hopes that evil will soon be defeated and ended his speech with a thank you for the courage, devotion, and commitment of the soldiers.
