SMB Wins PBA Philippine Cup Crown

The San Miguel Beer took home the bacon by beating Alaska 96-89 in the winner-take-all of the Game 7 of the PBA Philippine Cup Finals.
This win on Wednesday is also a history as SMB is the first team ever to comeback coming from 0-3 deficit in the finals.
Chris Ross was the main man of the game. He gave his team 25 points with five assists. June Mar Fajardo, who is still nursing an injury, managed to contribute 21 markers and 15 boards.
The Beermen were also assisted by Marcio Lassiter and Arwind Santos who gave the team with 15 and 13 points respectively.
Ross was named as the finals MVP.
Chris Banchero gave Alaska 21 points while Calvin Abueva had 16. Vic Manuel, who greatly scored throughout the first three games of the finals was shut to only three points of the game 7.
Coach Leo Austria credited his players and coaching stuff who showed fighting spirit throughout the championship. He also added that their chance to create history also pushed them.
“Gusto kong pasalamatan ang San Miguel management, the coaching staff and the players who refuse to lose. They want to win another championship especially nang malaman naming we’re making history,” said Austria.
Alaska, which was seeking its first All-Filipino championship, also ended second place to Beermen last season.
