A member of the Special Action Force (SAF) is now facing charges for stealing money and TV from the prison chapel of the New Bilibid Prisons (NBP).
Bureau of Corrections chief Atty. Benjamin delos Santos said on Thursday via an interview with DZMM said the SAF member admitted the crime.
It was revealed that he ordered two inmates to dress like SAF members so they can immediately enter the area and launched a fake drug raid. However, they only opened the vault.
The officials, delos Santos only identified as “Sargeant” confessed and noted that the money will never be returned because he lost it to gambling. The TV will take some time to recover because he doesn’t where it was brought.
The suspects may be charged today before the Muntinlupa Prosecutor’s Office.
