Robredo Felt Bad About Typhoon While She's On Vacation

Vice President Leni Robredo admitted that she felt bad when her vacation in USA is a co-incidence with the typhoon in the Philippines.
“Andun ako (sa US) na ang sama ng loob na may nangyayari dito na wala ako… masama yung timing ngayon. Masama yung loob ko na nangyari yun na wala ako,” said Robredo as she met the victims of the typhoon in her hometown, Naga City.
Robredo drew flak from netizens questioning her decisions to continue with her vacation despite the Philippines – including Naga – was being battered by the storm.
Robredo said her family decided to cut their vacation short. However, they found it hard to book a flight since it’s peak season. She didn’t find any slots for five people because she was with her mom, who is 80 years of age.
“Dapat sa (January) 4 pa pabalik namin. Yung earliest (flight) na nakuha namain New Year’s Eve kaya New Year’s Eve kami nagbiyahe,” said Robredo.
“Napakahirap maghanap ng limang tickets kasi kasama ko yung tatlo kong anak at nanay ko na 80 years old,” Robredo added.
Though her office announced that she was coordinating relief from USA, Robredo said it was not enough.
“Paglapag ko lang sa US nung pumunta ako, inareglo ko na kaagad yung relief operations… Pero iba din kasi kung ako mismo yung andito,” said Robredo.
