'Ransomware' Attacks Computers From Around The World

Lots of companies and even personal computer owners reported a new kind of hacking that will ask for money to return the files back.
“Ransomware” is a kind of cyber-attack and extortion where the hacker will lock the computer (decrypt) and will ask for money in exchange for a decryption key. It quickly spread through Russia, USA, and England.
Filipino Ronald Fontanilla, a simple internet cafe owner, was a victim of the said cyber-attack. The hacker asked for $300 for the decryption.

Ransomware, Wanna Cry
Angel Redoble, the Chief Information Security Officer of the E-PLDT, said the company is now on full alert.
“Yes, since last night, when we heard of this incident abroad, ‘yung cybersecurity team namin has been put to red alert,” said Redoble.
Experts advised people from updating security systems of your gadgets. Refraining from opening unsolicited emails can also prevent the attack.
