Morgue workers in Spain were horrified after a story that should only be told in moves and TV came to life.
According to the employees of Villabona Jail, the guards were doing their rounds on Tuesday night when they found Gonzalo Montoya Jimenez laying lifelessly in his cell. The doctors immediately responded and declared him dead.
It has been suspected that Jimenez, 29, committed suicide. His body was then placed in a cadaver bag and was sent to the Legal Medical Institute of Oviedo for an autopsy.
However, while the doctors were preparing for the procedure, they heard noises coming from Jimenez’ corpse. They opened the bag and found out that he was still alive. He even talked to them about his wife and wished that he could see her.
It is believed what happened is catalepsy, which, according to Google dictionary is “a medical condition characterized by a trance or seizure with a loss of sensation and consciousness accompanied by rigidity of the body.”
