President Rodrigo Duterte spent P300 million in traveling to different countries in a year.
Duterte has gone to 21 trips so far, which is almost triple the eight trips of former President Benigno Aquino III and spent a total of P386.2 million. It excluded his last four trips to Cambodia, Hong Kong, China, and Russia.
Presidential Communications Secretary Martin Andanar admitted the figures. However, he said the trips were worthy because Duterte was able to bring home investments from other countries.
Pero ang mahalaga dito, tingnan natin iyung cost benefit analysis natin, iyung ROI (return on investment),” said Andanar.
Napakaganda ng return on investment,” Andanar added.
Andanar also noted that the travel strengthened the ties of Philippines to other countries, which he noted is priceless.
