The son of Philippine National Police (PNP) Director General Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa is one of the newest recruits in the PNP Academy (PNPA).
Rock dela Rosa stood on the ground of PNPA as of its 350 new recruits.
“Feeling ko po ngayon parang blessed po ako. This is not just a blessing but also a privilege kaya kung anuman ang mangyari, lalaban po ako,” said Rock.
The cadets wore white shirts and pair of jeans. They marched in Camp Castaneda in Silang, Cavite while their parents were on the sidelines cheering on them.

On cue, the officers ran towards the noobs and shout at them. Some were asked to do push-ups while other were commanded to roll on the ground, ending up with untidy white shirts. It can also be seen that some cadets were ordered to close their eyes while doing the physical activities because their parents’ reactions might cause them to quit.
Of course, Rock was never exempted. Upperclassmen screamed at him. For sure, Bato will never take it against them.
In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Bato said he chose not to come because the upperclassmen might be challenged and gave his son harder times in front of him.
“Takot ako baka mas lalo siyang pahirapan ng mga upper class na kadete pag andon ako… baka ma-challenge sila, pakita na talagang they are over and above the plebe who is my son. So ganon ‘yun, ganon ‘yung attitude ng kadete so iwas nalang ako baka mamaya mas lalong mamalasin ang anak ko,” Bato told the reporters.
Rock’s mom and sister attended the welcoming of the freshies.
