Pinoy Who Gives Helping Hands in Recovering Stolen Pouch Awarded

Due to his quick actions that leads in the recovery of a passenger’s pouch that has money, an OFW working for Qatar Airways was awarded.
Rodel Vinluan, on Sunday was honored by the Philippine Overseas Labour Office and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (POLO-OWWA) for helping passenger to retrieve his pouch with money amounting to $82,500 at the Doha International Airport (DIA) last year.
The passenger was travelling to Istanbul on Pegasus Air Flight on January 18 when he found that his pouch was missing. He instantly reported the incident. Vinluan was quick to respond by reviewing the footage resulting to the arrest of the passengers identified as “a group of other nationalities.”
The money was returned to the passenger with the help of the Ministry of Interior (MoI) personnel and the Qatar Airways officials.
Vinluan, who has been working with Qatar Airways since 2001, has been lauded by Qatar Airways CEO Akbar al-Baker for his “excellent service he provided to a passenger in need and demonstrated the value of an effective security team provides at DIA.”
