Pinay OFW In Kuwait Executed

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) confirmed that OFW Jakatia Pawa has been executed in Kuwait.
DFA secretary Charles Jose spoke with the press noting that Pawa was executed at about 3:19 p.m.
Pawa was executed with six more convicts, GMA News reported.
Except for Shaikh Faisal Al Abdullah and Nasra Al Enezi, who were both Kuwaiti nationals, the foreign nationals were not identified with the report. It only said that they are Ethiopian, a Filipina, two Egyptians and a Bangladeshi.
OFW rights advocate Susan Ople update her status and prayed for the soul of Pawa.
“Praying for OFW Jatakia Pawa. May her life be spared from execution. I believe that she is innocent. The DFA should act with dispatch to save her life,” said Ople.

During the court hearings, Pawa denied killing her employer’s daughter. She also noted that the family has more motives in killing the girl because of her illicit love affair with a male neighbor.
Pawa started working in Kuwait in 2002. She is a native of Zamboanga del Norte and a mother to two children aged 18 and 16.
