The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) raided houses in Valenzuela City, which are being used as drug dens.
With the use of a search warrant issued by Valenzuela City Judge Maria Nene Santos, the officials raided the house of Barla Brusola or known as Marla and the house Genito Alejan or known as Kalbo in Barangay Gen.T. de Leon, Valenzuela City.
Ismael Fajardo, Jr., the Regional Director of PDEA – NCR, said the group put the two suspects under the surveillance for almost two months after receiving an intelligence report.
Fajardo also noted that Alejan has a pending homicide case.
20 sachets of suspected drugs and paraphernalia were found in the two houses. Eight more individuals were arrested because they were inside the house when the raid happened.
Both Brusola and Alejan denied that they are drug pushers. She said her only vice is drinking alcohol and she used to do this because she has a problem. Alejan, on the other hand, admitted using drugs but denied that he is a user. He said the sachets found in his place were planted.
The police will file cases against Brusola and Alejan for violation of the RA 9165 or the Dangerous Drug Act of 1972. The eight others are now under investigation.
