P15-M Worth Of Shabu, Seized In Luneta

The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) arrested five people and seized shabu that is estimated worth P15 million in a buy bust in Luneta Park.
Chinese nationals Dixon Kee Yu, Qian Li and Simon Tan; and Filipinos Husni and Amir Caña were arrested during the strings of operations at the Harbor View parking lot, located near the Quirino Grandstand.
QCPD chief Supt. Edgardo Tinio said one of the five suspects is the leader of a drug syndicate subgroup operating in Caloocan, Manila, Quezon, Calabarzon and other areas of Luzon. He however declined to identify the leader.
The QCPD Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group chief, arranged a meeting from the suspects where one of the agents acted a buyer, who was interested in buying P1 million worth of shabu.
The agent and suspects agreed to meet at a McDonalds branch along Quezon Avenue at around 7:00 p.m. on Monday. After seeing the contraband, the transaction was set on Tuesday morning at around 6:30.
The deal then resulted to the arrest.
The QCPD noted that the group was under surveillance for a month before the buy bust.
Aside for the drugs, the authorities also seized a Toyota Fortuner SUV, a blue Mitubishi Montero, a Samsung tablet and three cellphones.
The suspects were brought to the Camp Karingal. They will be facing charges fro violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act.
