‘One Time Big Time Operation’ In Makati Yields To Arrest Of 70 People

The Philippine National Police (PNP) in Makati City launched a “one-time big-time” operation on Wednesday night.
Along with the barangay officials, the officials of Makati PNP roamed the streets. The operation yielded to 70 arrests.
Out of the hefty numbers, 51 were arrested because of drinking alcohol in the streets, eight because of drugs, 14 were minors who violated the curfew law, four because of gambling, and one who was caught with .38 gun. Four were jailed because of a pending warrant of arrest.
According to Senior Inspector Lito Buisan, the Assistant Chief of Police for Operation in Makati PNP, the agency used to do the operation once every two months but they still arrest lost of people.
The police also took 20 people who are asking alms in the streets. They were turned over to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
