Now Out On Bail, Jinggoy Estrada Eyes 2019 Senate Seat

He’s out of jail for four months already and he might run for senator in the 2019 elections.
Former Senator Jose “Jinggoy” Estrada was jailed for three years for the plunder and graft charges filed against him and three other senators for allegedly scamming their pork barrels along with mastermind Janet Napoles.
Now, he was out. However, he explained that the President Rodrigo Duterte, a president he supports, didn’t influence his freedom.
“Hindi nakialam si Presidente (The President did not have a hand in this). I swear,” said Jinggoy in an interview with ABS-CBN News.
Today, Estrada is traveling around the country where he expressed gratitude to his supporters. He noted that he was keeping his options for next year’s senatorial elections.
“If ever I decide to run and if I win, siguro I’ll be vindicated,” he said.
Leila De Lima, the former DOJ Secretary, about her political fate. It can be recalled that she led the investigation of his alleged corruption.
Now, she was jailed and Estrada thought it was not politically motivated and her case was graver.
“I don’t think that is political,” said Estrada. “Yung sa kanya, drugs. Mas mabigat yun.”
