Miascor Airport Services Terminated Because Of Theft

Miascor Airport Services Terminated Because Of Theft

| On 20, Jan 2018

Because of theft, the contract of Miascor, a luggage service provider will no longer be renewed.

In a video, Jovenil dela Cruz, an OFW, was complaining that his baggage swept. Later, six Miascor officials were pointed as the suspects. They were then sacked.

President Rodrigo Duterte personally apologized to dela Cruz.

Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) General Manager Eddie Monreal wrote a letter to Miascor president Fidel Reyes, wherein the company was given with 60 days to vacate the premises they occupied.

After Miascor stops its operations, the government can choose from other service providers.

President Rodrigo Duterte himself ordered the MIAA not to renew the contract of Miascor.

Miascor to Appeal

Miascor said the officials will appeal the ruling directly to President Rodrigo Duterte. In a statement, the company will ask the president to reconsider because there will be 4,000 employees that will be affected.

“We shall formally issue an appeal to the President to kindly reconsider his position on behalf of our almost 4,000 regular employees and their families who will be affected,” MIASCOR said in a statement Saturday. “It is unfortunate that the actions of six erring employees in Clark International Airport have negatively impacted the Company.”

We sincerely regret the recent incident at Clark International Airport and we again extend…
