Joy Viado Passes Away

Actress-Comedienne Joy Viado passed away on Saturday evening. She was 57.
According to Joseph Cristopher, son of Viado, she had difficulty in breathing after arriving home from a friend’s place.
“Galing siya sa bahay ng kaibigan niya, at pag-uwi niya ay medyo nahihirapan na siyang huminga… Tapos nung tinakbo namin siya sa hospital, sa kotse pa lang eh talagang nahihirapan na siya. Sa hospital, sinubukan i-revive pero [dead on arrival],” said Cristopher.
Annette Lucido, the bestfriend told MJ Felipe of ABS-CBN News that she was immediately brought to Quezon City General Hospital but was pronounced dead at 8:55 p.m.
A wake for Viado is being held at Arlington Memorial Chapels.
A veteran comedienne-actress to both TV series, films and, stage, Viado became the talk of the town in 2015 after she appealed to the public for financial assistance to her save her foot from amputation. She was suffering from diabetes.
Viado starred in shows like “Luv U,” “Regal Shocker,” “Kokey @ Ako” and many more. She also clinched roles in films “You’re Still The One,” “Shake, Rattle & Roll XV,” “Da Possessed” and many more.
Her last appearance was via “Dear Uge” of GMA.
