In May, Jimmy Kimmel did an emotional monologue where he said that his son, who was born on April 12, has a heart condition.
He said his son, who he called Billy, underwent an open-heart surgery days after he was born.
In July, Jimmy updated the world with the condition of his son. He said Billy is doing great and reminded the lawmakers that each and every American child deserve care.
This week, Jimmy is off the show to give some time for his family, especially for Billy, who is now recovering from a successful surgery on Monday.
“ABC’s ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ welcomes guest hosts this week,” the network said in a statement. “Jimmy’s son, Billy, had a scheduled and successful heart surgery this morning.”
“Celebrity Samaritans” Chris Pratt, Tracee Ellis Ross, Neil Patrick Harris and Melissa McCarthy filled in the episodes for Jimmy.
