The Philippine National Police (PNP) made a move to end discrimination in the agency.
It just launched the first-ever ‘Gwapulis Din,” a pageant for good-looking lesbian police officers.
Police Officer 2 Clarissa Santos is the winner of the first competition. She bested 10 other contestants of the competition.
PO1 Kathlene Banaga of the Marikina CPS placed first runner-up while PO1 Marie Antonette Gollayan of the San Juan CPS was 2nd runner-up.
Eastern Police District Director Romulo Sapitula, the organizer of the pageant, said he is hoping that this will help in ending the discrimination on the agency where he belongs. He also noted that this move is to show equality, especially for the members of the LGBT community.
The competition was held at the Tanghalang Pasigueño in Pasig City on Friday night.
