Gunman Attacks Resorts World Manila In Pasay City

| On 02, Jun 2017

A gunman attacked Resorts World Manila in Pasay City on Friday morning.

Around midnight on Friday, several gunshots were heard as the attacker fired multiple bullets and burned a casino table.

Some witnesses claimed that men were wearing masks during the attack. However, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said there was a lone gunman involved in the attack.

A CCTV footage showed the gunman carried a long firearm, which resembled a “baby armalite” or a small version of the M-16 assault rifle, the police said.

At least 30 people were brought to the hospitals for immediate medical attention.

Robbery Behind

PNP chief Ronald dela Rosa said the police are looking at robbery, downplaying the claim of ISIS’ involvement in the shooting.

“We’re looking at robbery as an angle because he stole, he barged into the storage room for casino chips. He took the chips, put them inside his backpack but eventually left it. We have recovered the backpack,” said dela Rosa.

Authorities noted that the gunman was most likely a gambling addict that went crazy.

Netizens Post

Several netizens post photos and videos during and after the incident.
