Fil-Am Girl Wins "White House Healthy Food Challenge"

Fil-Am Girl Wins “White House Healthy Food Challenge”

| On 15, Jul 2015

A nine-year-old Fil-Am was praised for her own recipe challenge that was hosted by the USA’s White House.

Aria Pelaez of San Francisco, California, was personally praised by President Barack Obama and her health champion wife Michelle, for her recipe called “Barack-Amole“.

According to the ABC News, Aria was hailed as the winner of the “Healthy Food Recipe” called the 2015 Kids’ “State Dinner”  besting all other 54 contestants, who were screened from 1,000 entries.

“I was inspired to make this recipe because my family makes bland tacos,” says Aria. “I took leftover BBQ pineapple, tomato, orange peppers, and red onions and made a taco with them. I added grilled fish and I made a guacamole yogurt sauce to give it a strong taste. This dish makes my mouth water. You rock, Mrs. Michelle Obama! P.S. This is gluten free! My granddad has Celiac so I try to eat gluten free, too, in his honor.”

Obama said he would love having “Barack-Amole” served on his table.

“I looked over the menu and the food looks outstanding. I’m particularly impressed with the ‘Back-Amole’. So I’m expecting people to save me a little sampling of the “barack-amole’.” said Obama.

The dinner was personally organized by the First Lady, who had been actively promoting healthier lifestyle.
