The family of the OFW who was found dead in a freezer is now calling for action so they can achieve justice.
Joanna Daniela Demafelis, who was described by her family as selfless, went to Kuwait in 2014 to work as a house helper to help her family.
In 2016, she informed them that she will be extending her contract. However, in February 2017, she stopped communicating with them.
The family has since asked for help from the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA). Only this week that dead body of Demafelis was found.
It was believed that the body of Demafelis has been frozen for more than a year already since the suspects Lebanese Nader Assaf and his Syrian wife left Kuwait in November 2016.
Raul Dado, executive director of the Office of Migrant Workers Affairs, the Kuwait police are now ready to arrest the suspects. They are now also in coordination with them.
“Embassy officials are also meeting police and forensics to get the results of the investigation immediately,” said Dado. “A new meeting with the highest officials of the Kuwait forensics department will be held this weekend.”
