President Rodrigo Duterte, on Tuesday, led the destruction of hot cars that were confiscated by the Bureau of Customs (BOC).
The destruction happened at the Port of Manila wherein several known units such as Lexus ES300, BMW Alpina, BMW Z4, and Audi A6 Quattro were pounded with the use of heavy equipment.
Aside from Manila, several cars were also bulldozed at the ports of Davao and Cebu.
This move came in after Duterte delivered a speech in front of the indigenous people in Davao City. He said some importers allowed the vehicles to be confiscated so later can buy them for cheaper prices instead of paying taxes.

“I’ll bulldoze them this Tuesday. I’ve instructed Sid (Customs chief Isidro Lapeña). Don’t sell it because the situation will remain the same. They’ll still be the only ones who will benefit from it and they’ll be the only ones who’ll wait for the next auctions. It’s legal and it’s cheap because it’s auctioned,” said Duterte.
