President Rodrigo Duterte is known for his drug-busting skills. He even won his seat because of this.
After he assumed the office, Duterte fearlessly named 159 public servants who are involved in illegal drugs and noted that there is a second batch. He also said that there are some celebrities who are involved in such illegal activities.
A few weeks ago, radio DJ Karen Bordador and her boyfriend were arrested and confiscated to them are millions worth of ecstasy, marijuana and paraphernalia. Later, the police noted they have the list of the two’s clients and some of them are celebrities.
Star Magic, one of the biggest talent agency in the Philippines, made a move and conducted “a supervised and voluntary drug test” to its 40 artists over the weekend as a support to the president’s advocacy.
Jake Cuenca, Diego Loyzaga and Enrique Gil turned negative.
“Results were 100% negative for Jake Cuenca, Enrique Gil and Diego Loyzaga and the rest of the Star Magic artists. Star Magic believes in the efforts of the current campaign to keep our home and working environment drug free,” the statement reads.
The statement did not include the result of the 37 more personalities.
Last week, heartthrob James Reid said he is willing to undergo a drug test noting that he didn’t find anything wrong with the campaign of the Duterte Administration.
“I guess it’s all for the better, so I don’t see any problem with that,” said Reid.
Robin Padilla, an avid supporter of Duterte during the election campaign, asked to keep the list. Later, he clarified his comments noting that he is asking to keep the lists of the users because they have jobs and use to pay taxes. He also noted that if the pusher is a Showbiz personality he won’t hesitate to expose them.
