Bill Gates is surely happy with the positive innovation of his company Microsoft Inc.
The company, which deals with technology, reported quarterly profits that is way above what is expected considering the playing console Xbox and the enterprise services “Cloud” as the biggest boosters
The Microsoft’s revenue rose above $23 billion, its best ever for the fiscal first quarter.
“We are innovating faster, engaging more deeply across the industry, and putting our customers at the center of everything we do, all of which positions Microsoft for future growth,” said Microsoft chief executive Satya Nadella.
Microsoft chief operating officer Kevin Turner said the company’s goal in providing the customers with great services and entertainment is the factor why it rose to such revenue.
“Customers are embracing our latest technologies from Surface Pro 3 and Office 365 to (cloud-based) Azure and SQL,” Turner said.
The company revenue from sales of Surface Pro 3 tablet computer is nearly $1 billion. The Xbox, on the other hand, sold 2.4 million in the quarter after it was released recently in 28 markets. The services like Azure and Office 365 grew up to 10%.
Nokia, which the company recently bought, also contributed with the hefty earnings.
According to some statistics, Microsoft gained a huge advantage in terms of “cloud” service to rivals Google and Amazon Web Services for offices and firms. It has established “cloud” data centers in 19 regions around the world that can handle data of jumbo jets.
This gain of Microsoft is despite of the decline of sales of Microsoft operating system, Windows, and other software and services for personal computing, which was blamed for the rising of smart phones and tablets.
