Celebrity chef Hasset Go succumbed to liver cancer in the morning of October 24, 2015. He was 29 years old.
Hasset was a celebrity chef, food analyst and consultant, and a businessman. He was also the brother of Rowden, the man who married his girlfriend before passing away to the same disease.
After the death of Rowden, the Go family underwent check ups. That was the time that Hasset found out that he has stage 2 cancer. Hisham, their younger brother was diagnosed with liver cirrhosis. Their mother didn’t show any signs of disease.
Hisham revealed that his brother died via “Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho”.
“Alam namin na Diyos, parang nagte-test lang sa amin, kasi alam Niyang matatag kami na family and ‘yung family namin will stay faithful kahit sa trials na binibigay Niya sa amin,” said Hisham.
Go is the co-owner of popular restaurants MEDCHEF and Le Jardin.
On July 31, 2015, the campaign #ForChefHasset was organized by his family, relatives and friends to seek aid for the cancer cure. It held a show and other event for the popular chef. Celebrities, athletes and even ordinary people donated personal stuff for the auctions.
The wake of Hasset is at 7:00 p.m. in Room B, Nacional Memorial Homes, Araneta Avenue, Quezon City. His body will be flown to Oroquieta City on Wednesday for the burial on Friday.
