A bullet was found inside the hand bag of a 75-year-old woman at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) on Tuesday April 19.
Salvacion Cordabista was supposedly flying to America aboard Korean Air Flight KE 622 to be with one of her child and continue medication there. Suddenly she, her husband, Esteban, and another companion were barred.
Surprisingly, a live ammunition from a .38-caliber pistol was found inside Salvacion’s hand bag.
“Nahuli po sa kanyang bala, ay talagang live po, at pag sinabi po nating live, meron siyang shell, may casing, may slug, may primer at pulbura. Pag ganun po, pwede pong pumutok iyon,” said Adolfo Samala, the Senior Superintendent of NCR Aviation Security Unit.
Lola Salvacion was brought to the Philippine National Police (PNP).
“Dalawang beses na po kaming bumabiyahe sa America at alam na alam po namin na bawal ang mag-dala ng bala. Eh bakit naman po kami magdadala ng bala?” Salvacion told ABS-CBN News. She also calmly noted that the truth will prevail.
One of the family members claimed that someone asked for P50,000 in exchange of her freedom.
Loyda Magbag, the daughter of Salvacion noted that the culprit destroyed the family’s reputation.
Lola Salvacion underwent an inquest proceeding at the Department of Justice (DOJ). Senior State Prosecutor Theodore Villanueva granted a temporary freedom for the senior without any bail. The preliminary hearing was scheduled on May 3.
