The September Twin Towers Attack is definitely one of the most devastating event of the modern world.
The attack took down two towers in just minutes. However, the officials spent months just to clean rubble and debris. However, one discovery sent a powerful message to the world.
In March of 2002, a group was sifting through the last remnants of the south tower. Then, one fire fighter uncovered a piece of special debris… It’s a bible page that was infused on a rock.
The bible page contained the Gospel of Matthew, in which Jesus gave his teachings about retallation.
You have heard that it has been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: But I say to you, That you resist not evil: but whoever shall smite you on your right cheek, turn to him the other also. – Matthew 5:38-39
Photographer Joel Meyerowitz took photos of the artifact and noted that he was astonished with it.
“My astonishment at seeing the page that the Bible was open to made me realize that the Bible’s message survives throughout time,” said Meyerowitz. “And in every era we interpret its teachings freshly, as the occasion demands.”
