Bacoor Fire Leaves 80 Badjaos Homeless

A fire that broke in Bacoor, Cavite left 80 Badjao families homeless.
According to a report by ABS-CBN News the fire started at around 9:30 p.m. on Thursday night in Barangay Niyog Tres, Aguinaldo Highway and spread like wild fire due to the houses there are made from light materials and the wind was quite strong.
According to the firemen, they found hard times going to the compound as the way is quite narrow.
Jade Lapasaran, 27, and an engineer was the lone casualty in the said tragic event. She was about to leave their house, but unable to get out due the thick smoke, which can cause suffocation. According to the father of the victim, she just come home from work and already resting when the fire broke.
Several people were also injured.
The fire was declared out at around 11:45 p.m. and about 60 houses were destroyed. The 80 families that were affected by the fire were living in a covered court near the barangay hall.
According to the initial investigation by the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) an unattended candle could have started the fire since there is no electricity in the area. According to Philstar about 1.7 million worth of properties were destroyed after the fire.
