The Ateneo De Manila University (ADMU) Men’s Volleyball Team beats the defending champions National University (NU) clinching their first-ever volleyball crown.

The Eagles ended the Game 2 23-25, 25-23, 25-23, and 25-15 dethroning the Bulldogs.

Season Most Valuable Player (MVP) Marck Espejo lead his team donating 33 whopping points. Ish Polvorosa, the Best Setter of the season, was hailed as the MVP of the finals after staying in tact from the beginning to the end.

Men’s Individual Awardees

Earlier, the awarding ceremony for the Men’s division was held. Check out the winners:

  • Best scorer – Mark Alfafara, UST
  • Best Attacker – Marck Espejo, Ateneo
  • Best Blocker – Peter Torres, NU
  • Best Server – Vince Mangulabnan, NU
  • Best Digger – Rence Melgar, AdU
  • Best Setter – Ish Polvorosa, Ateneo
  • Best Receiver – Rence Melgar, AdU
  • Rookie of the Year – Eduard Campusano, UE
  • Most Valuable Player (Season) – Marck Espejo

DLSU vs Ateneo for Women’s

The Ateneo Lady Eagles and DLSU Lady Archers will again face the finals after the lady in green avenged their game 1 lost to NU Lady Bulldogs.

For sweeping the eliminations, the Lady Eagles will have a thrice-to-beat advantage, meaning that the DLSU must beat them three times in order to clinch the championship/

Ara Galang Injured

Going to the finals, the DLSU suffered a main blow after their main scorer, Ara Galang, a senior player sustained a knee injury during the do-or-die game.

The Lady Spikers were leading the fourth set 23-20, when Galang made an awkward fell following a hit against the Bulldogs. She was seen down and obviously crying out of pain. Later, she was stretched out of the court.
