A Quezon City court issued an arrest warrant against Dahlia Pastor, the wife of the late international racer, Enzo Pastor.
Enzo was shot dead while travelling in Visayas Avenue to a racing event. The primary suspects in the killing are Domingo De Guzman who hired a killer and it was suspected that it rooted with the affair in between De Guzman and Dahlia.
Dahlia has since gone hiding.
The Quezon City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 91 issued the arrest warrant and not recommended any bail.
Atty. Ruy Rondain, the legal counsel of Dahlia, said his client is not inclined to surrender to maintain her innocence to the murder.
“I will not advise her either way, but I do not think Dahlia is inclined to surrender. Remember that this is a non-bailable case and the evidence, or lack of it, shows she is innocent. She feels that there is a failure in the system if an innocent person like herself maybe imprisoned even temporarily,” said Rondain.
Rondain also noted that he and his team will also file a motion questioning the probable cause and hoping that the court will hear their appeal.
Meanwhile, the mother of Enzo, lauded this development.
“Ito ang hinihintay natin na may base talaga… Ito and puno’t dulo na tama ang DOJ, tama ang mga siyasat ng imbestigasyon,” said Remy Pastor. “So kung ano man ang gagawin nila para ma-delay nang ma-delay itong sa RTC, pwede namang makita na ang madla na umaayon.”
“That’s why it is a mixed feelings — happiness and pain,” Remy added.
Dahlia and De Guzman were claimed to had an affair. The housemaids testified that when Enzo was out, De Guzman use to visit Dahlia.
