Albay Receives P20 Million From Duterte

On Monday, President Rodrigo Duterte handed the P20 million to the local government unit of Albay for the victims of Mayon Volcano.
Alert level 4 is still hoisted over Mayon Volcano. This means that dangerous eruption is still possible.
“I am leaving right now, bigay ko na sa (I will give it to the) provincial government ng Albay, it’s P20 million. I understand hard hit ang about 4 or 5 municipalities,” said Duterte. He added that another P50 million will be allotted for the operation.
This is aside from the P5 million that the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) gave.
Duterte arrived at 3:30 p.m. amid the cloudy skies and a restive Mayon.
As per records of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), more than 20,000 families or P80,000 people have been displaced and are now staying in evacuation centers.
Meanwhile, according to the Department of Agriculture (DA), the estimated damage to the agriculture is around P185 million.
