The Philippine Airforce gave honors to actress Isabel Granada who served for the agency for two years.
Isabel suffered a brain aneurysm while attending a meet and greet in Doha, Qatar. She was in a coma. It was reported that she also suffered multiple cardiac arrests. She passed away last Saturday.
On Thursday morning, the remains of Isabel arrived from Doha, Qatar. Members of the PAF wrapped a flag around the casket before carrying it in a procession. The overwhelming ceremony was witnessed by Granada’s family, friends, and loved ones.
Granada is a graduate of aeronautical engineering and served the Air Force for two years where she reached the rank of Airwoman Second Class (AW2C) before her death.
PAF spokesperson Major Aristides Galang said Granada is a great loss for the agency.
“The men and women of the Philippine Air Force share the sense of grief and great loss of Ms. Granada and we wish to pay tribute to this great woman who has achieved so much in her life,” said Galang.
Galang also took note of Granada’s efforts in supporting the event of the PAF. He said she took advantage of her celebrity status to gather the crowd for such events.
“She spent a year as an active PAF enlisted personnel as part of the PAF Women’s Volleyball team and opted to remain as a reservist where she continued her support by willingly performing, hosting, and lending her celebrity status to draw crowd to PAF events,” Galang said.
